8,175 ft., Hawley Lake is one of Arizona's highest lakes.

Hawley
Lake is actually a man-made reservoir, which is owned
and operated by the White Mountain Apache Indian Tribe. The lake
is stocked with Rainbow, Brown, Brook and Apache trout. The
Apache trout is native to the White Mountains. A fishing license
from the Ft. Apache Indian Reservation is necessary.
Location: Eastern Arizona. Midway between Hondah and Springerville/Eager.
Take 260 to 473 and follow it south to Hawley Lake.
Weather: Note due to elevation and location, visitors should be prepared
for conditions. Winter weather can be severe here. Arizona's coldest
temperatures -40 F/-40 C have been recorded here.
